The agricultural censuses are projects that traditionally rely on the participation of Ministry of Agriculture in the data validation process. The two institutions work closely together in preparing and implementing the various stages of data collection. A team of interviewers duly prepared and certified by Statistics Portugal collects, from farmers, the data needed to complete the questionnaires, In the autonomous regions the operation is conducted by regional statistics: Regional Statistics Office of the Azores (SREA) and Regional Directorate of Statistics of Madeira (DREM).
